Chandigarh, March 19

House owners’ name plates put up with the suffix “Modi Ka Parivar” in Maloya were today forcibly removed by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation along with the police at the behest of Congress-AAP, claim BJP.

“As many as 300 families of Maloya had put ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ name plates at their houses. The situation here today got tense due to the uprooting of these name plates and residents got angry due to sudden arrival of the police at their houses. They were installed in response to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s taunt on the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the press statement issued stated.

The BJP has blamed the Municipal Corporation along with police. After this incident, party leaders and workers under the leadership of Chandigarh BJP President Jitender Pal Malhotra strongly protested outside the Maloya police station and raised slogans against this move.

After getting this information he along with partymen reached the spot. He talked to the police administration and municipal corporation officials in this regard.

He said till now only 300 people had installed name plates of “Modi Ka Parivar” outside their houses, which Aam Aadmi Party and Congress leaders could not tolerate. But, welfare works done by him are in the veins of the public. How will they remove that?

BJP Secretary Sanjeev Rana informed that a complaint has been given to the concerned police station in this regard. The BJP warned the police that this action of the Municipal Corporation will not be tolerated.

Chandigarh BJP’s state general secretary Hukam Chand and and in-charge Sanjeev Rana further said in response to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s taunt on the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maloya residents had installed name plates of ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ at their houses.

Today, he received information that the houses in Maloya on which these plates were installed were removed by the Municipal Corporation with the help of police at the behest of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.

Expressing strong anger over this incident, Rana said any person can put up any party’s banner, flag or material as per his wish on his personal property. But, the extreme thing is that the Municipal Corporation misused its authority and played with the sentiments of the people and removed the banner of their loved leader.

Apart from BJP State Vice President Rambir Bhatti, Dr BR Ambedkar District President Ravi Rawat, other officials, workers and Maloya residents were present during the protest.
