Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni visited various grain markets like Lalton and Jodha under Ludhiana West Sub-Division and reviewed the ongoing procurement process of wheat.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Sahni held a detailed discussion with the officials of procurement agencies regarding the ongoing purchase and lifting of food grains from the markets.
He also instructed the officials/employees to ensure smooth and uninterrupted procurement of wheat during this season of Hari. The Deputy Commissioner also held a meeting with the farmers present in the markets to get information about the ongoing procurement operations. The farmers expressed complete satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration for the purchase of their crops.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the firm commitment of the administration to pick up food one by one from the mandis and said that procurement operations are going on very smoothly in the district.
