Ludhiana Administration sets up for creches for polling staff kids during training

In a move to ensure polling staff fulfill their election duties dedicatedly without any fear about the safety of their kids, the district administration on Sunday established creches for the children when they attended the first phase of training.

The creches were set up at the same complexes in separate rooms where their parents underwent the first phase of election training on Sunday.

The elaborate arrangements of toys, indoor games, milk, biscuits, breads, TV, etc were made by the children. Further, trained assistants were appointed to take care and safety of kids.

The polling personnel expressed gratitude towards the administration for their unique initiative and said that the creche facilities ensured proper well-being of their kids.

District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that same creche facilities would also be provided to the kids of polling staff on Voting day (June 1). She zaid that polling staff must not refuse to perform their election duty due to their children. The district administration was duty-bound to facilitate them in every possible manner. She said that adequately trained teachers and Anganwari workers would also be deployed to take care of the children in the crèches, and facilities such as tea, milk, bread, breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be provided. Indoor and outdoor games and LED televisions would also be available for the entertainment of the children.

District Election Officer said further claimed that the polling staff must not fear about their safety of their kids and feel free regarding their wards as the children would be looked after in the best possible manner by the administration.
