On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vikas Heera today conducted surprise checking of mid-day meal at Government Senior Secondary School Jandiali and Government Primary School (Girls) Ramgarh wherein he personally tested the food to check its quality.
Giving more information, the SDM said that he has inspected the quality of cooked food being provided to children besides storage of foodgrains. He mentioned that on the directions of Ludhiana DC, random checking of mid-day meal has been initiated in the district.
He directed the School staff that the cleanliness should be taken care of while preparing and serving food to children. He also tested the mid-day meal himself and got feedback from the students about the quality of food. Subsequently, he expressed satisfaction over the quality of food being served here and directed the officials concerned to maintain the quality.
He reiterated administration’s commitment to providing hygienic food to children at government schools saying that any kind of laxity in this task would be highly unwarranted.
