For arranging transportation for the polling parties on poll day (June 1), Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Randeep Singh Heer conducted a meeting with different transporters in the district on Tuesday. The owners/transporters of both large and mini buses participated in the meeting.
RTO Randeep Singh Heer said that the meeting was conducted on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney. The transporters have been asked to submit the details regarding their buses and their drivers/conductors, so that the polling parties can be transported in their respected vehicles and the polling process can be competed smoothly.
Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) Abhishek Bansal among other officials were also present in the meeting.
RTO Heer further said that if any other transporters wishes to enlist his/her buses for transporting the polling parties, then they can submit the details of their respective buses and drivers/conductors with the office of RTO by May 13, 2024. The transporters would be paid for their services as per the rates fixed by the election commission.
In case of any queries in this regard, the transporters can contact RTO Randeep Singh Heer and ATO Abhishek Bansal till May 13, 2024.
