The Punjab government has established five Automotive and Driving Skill Centers across the state, providing accessible driving skills training to those in need. These centers are located in Bathinda, Roopnagar, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran.

Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar disclosed this during his visit to the Tarn Taran Automotive and Driving Skill Center, run by the Red Cross Society, on Friday. He inspected the facilities and distributed certificates to trainees. He mentioned that this center offers a two-day training program on road safety rules.

“Previously, individuals had to travel to Mahuana in Sri Muktsar Sahib district for refresher courses for their new or renew driving licenses, causing significant inconvenience. However, with the establishment of this center at the Red Cross office in Tarn Taran, people can now receive their training locally, eliminating the need to travel to Mahuana,” he added.

The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Sandeep Kumar, Executive Secretary Sarabjit Singh Thind, Chairman Dilbagh Singh and District Training Supervisor Surjit Singh, among other dignitaries.

These centers cater to the long-standing demand for quality driving training in the region, reflecting the state government’s commitment to providing better facilities to the people of Punjab.
