MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla held a meeting with the senior officials of the administration for the first time after victory today. He discussed important issues of the city with DC, ADC and Municipal Corporation Commissioner. He harshly criticized the state government on the issue of cleanliness in the city and also instructed DC Ghanshyam Thori to discuss this matter with the state government so that the city residents can be relieved from this problem.

Addressing after the meeting, Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that cleanliness, sewerage, water supply related to the corporation were discussed in this meeting. During this, the financial difficulties of the corporation were also in discussion because due to the absence of a house for the last two years, the finance commission of Rs 5 crore from the central government is not being received, due to which work is not being done. The sources of the corporation are also limited and the company that lifts the garbage is also not able to work due to lack of funds. That is why the agenda of the meeting was to discuss with the government and solve these problems immediately. He said that the way there is dirt and rats in the city at present, there is a fear that diseases like plague may spread. That is why a solution will be found as soon as possible. Gurjeet Singh Aujla warned the corporation to make an action plan on this.

After this, the issue of Tung Dab Drain, Bhagatanwala Drain and Mananwala Drain was also discussed. Emphasis was laid on installing a treatment plant in the drain so that clean water can be sent forward, instructions were given to work on this as well. Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that whatever funds are needed for this, he will get it from the central government.

Gurjeet Singh Aujla told that a campaign is being run to plant trees and save the environment. Under which 10 lakh trees should be planted. He said that for this, instructions were given to use the grounds in schools and create mini forests there. Trees should be planted in the middle of the roads and where there is no space, plants should be planted on the roofs. Gurjeet Singh Aujla appealed to the landlords to plant at least 20-25 plants on their vehicles so that the environment can be saved. He also instructed the Forest Department to take care of the plants wherever they are planted. He said that every person should plant a tree on his special occasion because if there are trees, then we can save the future life. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Deputy Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), District Forest Division Officer, Supervising Engineer Municipal Improvement Trust and Executive Engineer Pollution Control Board along with other officials were present.
