Mining department cracks down at illegal mining in Sri Anandpur Sahib

Acting on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Maan to stop illegal mining, Mininig department during the late night on Thursday conducted raids at various sites of district Rupnagar and seized 4 poclain machines and 5 tippers in sava river at Sri Anandpur sahib.

Giving further details here today, Xen Mining Rupinder Singh Pabla said that on the basis of tip off, mining department and police department jointly conducted this raid. He said that after getting information regarding illegal mining in villages alongside of sava river at Sri Anandpur sahib, he brought this serious matter to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and SSP Vivek S. Soni.

We used 2 private vehicles to conduct this raid, even police officers were in civil dress, he added.

Xen Mining said that while following three consecutive days till dawn so as to caught persons red-handed indulge in illegal mining, they conducted raid at night and confiscated 4 poclain machines and 5 tippers while doing illegal mining in zone of village Palata.

Xen Mining stated that all accused managed to escape from site as they took advantage of night but succeeded in recovering 4 porcelain machines and 5 tippers. He said that all accused will be arrested soon.
