The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) caught a man red-handed while he was indulging in meter tampering.
The man was caught meter tampering using a magnet and wires while Er. G. S. Khehra SE from the Suburban Circle in Amritsar, along with Xen Er. Manohar Singh and SDO Er. Dharminder Singh was conducting a routine inspection of the West Subdivision in Amritsar to prepare for uninterrupted supply during the upcoming summer season.
The officers reportedly noticed two individuals near the meter pillar box tampering with a smart meter. While one individual fled, other was detained by the SE and his team.
The anti-power theft police were called, and the detained individual was handed over to them.FIR has been lodged by the SHO of the Anti-Power Theft department in Verka. Given the severity of the incident, the police are conducting a thorough investigation.
