Haryana CM Nayab Saini chairs HPPC and DHPPC meeting, takes several key decisions

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh chaired the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) held late last evening. Cabinet Ministers, Kanwar Pal, Mool Chand Sharma, Ranjit Singh, JP Dalal, Dr. Banwari Lal, Minister of State, Smt. Seema Trikha, Mahipal Dhanda, and Aseem Goyal Naneola.

Several key decisions were taken in the meeting. A total of 31 agendas were presented in the meeting, covering agriculture and farmers’ welfare, animal husbandry and dairy, food supply and consumer affairs, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, public health engineering, higher education, secondary education, development and panchayat, transport department, and police. Out of these, 27 agendas were approved.

An approval of approximately Rs.1000 crore was given for the purchase of pipes to strengthen the drinking water supply, particularly in rural areas.Additionally, for the promotion of science education in schools, new equipment will soon be installed in the biology and chemistry labs of 729 cluster schools.

For this, an approval of approximately Rs. 30 crore was provided. Similarly, an approval of approximately Rs.10 crore was granted for the purchase of equipment for general science labs.

Furthermore, an approval of approximately Rs. 24 crore was given for the purchase of 3836 computers for colleges.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to providing quality education to children, with a special focus on science and mathematics subjects.

Contracts and Purchases worth approximately Rs.1500 crore approved in the meeting

In the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and the Departmental High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), contracts and purchases worth approximately Rs. 1500 crore were approved.

Through negotiations with various bidders, approximately Rs. 72 crore was saved.

468 Indoor Gyms to be set up in villages, equipment purchase approved

It was informed in the meeting that the state government is undertaking various projects in rural areas, such as yoga and vyayamshalas, libraries, and wellness centers. As part of this initiative, there is a plan to establish indoor gyms in the panchayats.

Under this plan, 468 indoor gyms will soon be established in villages, for which an approval of over Rs. 50 crore for gym equipment was granted. Each indoor gym will be equipped with 25 types of equipment.

An approval was also granted for the purchase of medicines for animals by the animal husbandry and dairying department.

Additionally, the purchase of 11 transformers of 132/33 kV, 20 transformers of 66/11 kV, and other equipment by HVPNL and UHBVN was also approved. This will cost approximately Rs. 290 crore.

Approval for the purchase of vehicles and other items for the Police Department

Approval was granted for the purchase of 8 water cannons, 9 Vajra vehicles, 14 trucks, and 3 bulletproof vehicles for the police department. The total cost of these vehicles will be approximately Rs. 11 crore. Moreover, approval was given for the purchase of 695 computers, 1100 e-challan machines, and other equipment for the police department, which will cost approximately Rs. 14 crore.

The Chief Secretary T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, V Umashankar, Director General of Police, Shatrujit Kapur, Director General, Supplies and Disposals Department, Mohammed Shayin, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, and other senior officers from the concerned departments also remained present on this occasion.
