GOMCO Patiala makes it to finals of ECL 2024, Season 1

On day 10 of  Employees’ Cricket League, 2024, Season-1 organized by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club, Chandigarh in association with Pritika Group of Industries and Mohali Auto Industries, 3 knockout matches were played.

In the nail-biting Semi-Final match of the Employee Cricket League Season-1 between GOMCO Patiala vs PSCC at Pranami Cricket Ground Naya Gaon, PSCC after winning the toss batted first. Kamal Amrinder and Vinay scored 39 runs each. Thereafter, HSR and Amninder made a brilliant partenership in the end and PSCC set a very good target of 177 runs to the opposition team. In reply, GOMCO lost its 5 wickets for just 75 but outstanding innings of Dr Mohit (75*) and Roshan Sharma (40) helped the team to achieve the target in 19.4 overs. Dr. Mohit was given the man of the match award for his tremendous innings of 75 runs.

On the other side, Two Quarter Finals were played. Quarter final match-2 between Commissioner XI vs High Court Chandigarh team was played at DAV College Sector 10 Chandigarh. The Commissioner’s XI batted first and set a mammoth target of 227.  Narayan Vohra played a blistering innings of 90 runs. In reply, High Court Chandigarh team was all out on the score of 129. In this match, Sherry Saini got first Hattrick of the tournament and judged Man of the Match.

In QF-4,  HC Warriors met Police favourites. Police favourites set a target of 186 runs for HC Warriors. Hariom Ghagnas once again proved himself the most consistent batsman for Police Favourites and scored yet another half century. In reply, HC Warriors had a poor start, they lost 5 key batters  for just 48 runs. But Gurdeep Singh Rana saved the team from the initial setbacks and played a mature innings of 65 but it was too late.  HC Warriors  managed to score 154 and lost the match by 30 runs. Hariom Ghangas was given the man of the match for his 57 runs.
Police favourites will meet Commissioner XI in the second Semifinal. Co-sponsors of the tournament The Doctors Consultancy, HeallthMaxx Super Speciality Hospital Mohali and Radisun Biotech Bathinda honored the player for good performance. Janak Singh, Patron, PSCC and Sushil Kumar Fauji, President, Punjab Secretariat Staff Association  were present on this occasion.
