ARO visits critical polling area in Jangpur village; reiterates commitment of admn to ensure free and fair elections

Reiterating the commitment of the district administration to ensure free, fair and transparent Lok Sabha-2024 elections, Assistant Returning Officer (ARO Dakha)-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM- Ludhiana West), Deepak Bhatia, along with local police officials, visited the critical polling area of Jangpur village in Dakha constituency on Monday.

The ARO and different teams of administration took confidence building measures among the residents and appealed them to vote during the Lok Sabha elections without coming under anyone’s influence.

Working under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, different teams also interacted with the villagers and encouraged them to exercise their Right to Vote on polling day (June 1).

ARO Deepak Bhatia said that working on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney, adequate security arrangements are being made at critical polling areas of the district, so that the elections can be held in peaceful manner.

ARO Bhatia further said that regular SVEEP activities are also being taken up in the constituency for ensuring maximum participation during the general elections.

Meanwhile, DEO Sakshi Sawhney said that the aim of district administration and police is to achieve the target of more than 70 per cent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections (Iss Baar, 70 Paar). All the required security arrangements are being made across 2921 polling booths in the district to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

All efforts are also being made to ensure that the voters do not face any problem and cast their votes comfortably at the polling stations on the polling day (June1), added DEO Sawhney.
