Ferozepur, December 30
To come to a conclusion over the Malbros Liquor Factory issue of Mansurwal at Zira, the Sangharsh Committee has given the names of 28 persons for the four committees constituted to collect samples and now the investigation is likely to start.
The committees constituted are Environment of issues of public hearing, Health Analysis, Loss of Cattle, Soil and crop damage along with the officials – four in the first three committees and three in soil and crop damage committee.
The protesters had been alleging that the Ethanol plant of Malbros International Private Limited the contamination of groundwater, deaths of cattle, and spread of various diseases and low production of crops due to pollution generated by the factory.
The sampling work is likely to start from today by the committee members – officials and names given by the Sanjha Morcha.
Earlier, the factory representative had refuted all the allegations by the protesters and was ready for any legal action and consequences thereof.
Meanwhile, the protest at Mansurwal Kalan continued with pouring in of various farm outfits from Punjab. Even SKM leader Tikait had also visited the Mansurwal and said, the farmers have learned a lesson from Delhi protests, to get the demands accepted from the government.
