Food and civil supply minister of Punjab Lal Chand kataruchak today said that the Punjab government will ensure the purchase of every grain of paddy in the market as elaborate arrangement has been made by the government.
Today after visiting the grain market here at Dhilwan , the Minister said that it was the first time under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that the payments are being made to farmers even before the deadline of 48 hours after purchase of paddy .
He said that nearly Rs. 1500 crore has already been paid to the farmers against the procurement of paddy .
The minister also talked to the farmers / artiyas and informed that the Punjab Government has already enhanced the limit of paddy production nearly 35 quintal per acre against the earlier 26 quintal to ease out the procurement of crop.
Deputy commissioner Vishesh sarangal said that the procurement of paddy is going smoothly in the district and the district all set to meet the target to purchase of 8 Lakh MT this season .
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included AAP local leaders , DFSC Madhu Goel and DMO Mukesh .
