Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa and Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer met in Chandigarh with UK MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, who was accompanied by his uncle Paramjit Singh Raipur (SGPC Member, Adampur) and his son Jugaad Singh Dhesi. Jagroop Singh Sekhwan (General Secretary, AAP), Chairman Gurdev Singh and other senior government persons were also present.
Sports Minister Hayer spoke about the various initiatives he is undertaking to increase sports participation amongst Punjabis, including incentivising top sportsmen and women.
MP Dhesi, who for the last decade has been President of Gatka Federation UK, requested that extra efforts be made to uplift Gatka, as well as the much-loved Punjabi sport Kabaddi.
MP Dhesi also requested that action be taken to give justice to Non-Resident Indians for their land disputes when their property is illegally seized. The Ministers listened intently and assured that they take the issue very seriously, because they want to encourage more investment.
Revenue Minister Jimpa also explained that if any NRI has such an issue, they should WhatsApp details of the issue directly to the new Government number +91 94641 00168 and appropriate action will be taken.
