Kapurthala traffic police Assistant Sub inspector was killed today in a hit by a Tata load carrier Chhotta Hathi when the later signalled it to stop here.
Traffic Incharge Sukhwinder Singh told PTI that a traffic police party led by ASI signalled the Chhotha Hathi to stop for checking near DC chowk this afternoon but the driver instead of stopping the vehicle hit the ASI and fled way but unfortunately deceased jacket got entangled in the vehicle and deceased was dragged by the vehicle to some distance and was seriously injured.
The deceased has been identified as Malkiat Singh resident of Local Ajit Nagar locality.
He was rushed to local civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.the driver fled away with the vehicle after hitting the deceased.
SP ( investigation) Harvinder Singh said police has sent alerts to all districts to arrest the driver .
Police has registered a case against the driver
