Commenting on the strike by Tehsildars, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the strike was in support of corrupt colleagues.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that while the tehsildars have chosen to protest collectively, the administration has ensured that public services remain unaffected by assigning other tehsil officers to handle all essential tasks.
“The government has extended its best wishes for their “collective holiday” but left the decision of when and where to resume duty entirely up to them. Meanwhile, officials have assured that strict action will be taken against corruption, and governance will continue uninterrupted in the interest of the people,” he said
“If they are fighting for a right cause, they should continue with their strike, I have been application of 1000s of men and women who are well qualified to take up their jobs,” he added.
