Teej organised by Progressive Enclave Society, Chandigarh

Teej is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in Punjab, dedicated to both married and unmarried women. Keeping with the theme of enjoyment and celebration, a Teej function was organized by the women of Society Progressive Enclave, Sector 50-B, Chandigarh, with full fervor and zest. Women of all age groups participated enthusiastically, donning traditional attires in vibrant colors.

Highlights of the event included traditional folk dances, colorful costumes, folk singing, giddha, tappey, and a food stall with dinner. A kids’ corner was also available, where children enjoyed rides, drawing, and coloring activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Kaur, Superintendent (retd.), Food Civil Supplies Department, Punjab appreciated the efforts of the society organizers. She stated that the festival of Teej is a symbol of our cultural heritage and emphasized that celebrating such festivals not only provides joy but also helps in reviving and preserving traditions and customs that are gradually vanishing.

Amita Bawa, Manjit Kaur, Rajinder, Karamjit, Kulwant, Manjit Saini, Usha, Kawaljit, Sarabjit, Hardeep, Charanjit, Parminder, Simran, Aman, Hardeep Saini, Sukhjit and Gurdeep, the organizers of this event, thanked all the society members for being part of the celebration of this ‘Sawan Festival.’
