Second day of 67th All India Railway Cricket ( Men) Championship knockout matches at PLW Cricket Stadium

The 67th All India Railway( Men )Cricket Championship 2023-24 kicked off with knockout matches at the PLW Cricket Stadium, hosted by Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW). Among the 28 teams from Indian Railways, eight teams have qualified for the final matches at PLW. Two matches were played as:

East Coast Railway V/s South Western Railway :

East Coast Railway scored 166 runs for 10 wickets in 44.2 overs, with the highest scorers Girja Prasana and Sujit Lenka making 70 runs in 102 balls and 59 runs in 57 balls respectively. Kishan Bedare of South Western Railway took five wickets.

In response, South Western Railway chased down the target, scoring 167 runs for two wickets, winning the match by 8 wickets. The highest scorer for South Western Railway were Rahul Singh ( not out) & Atharva who made 73 runs in 80 balls & 54 runs in 80 balls respectively.

South Western Railway won the match by 8 wickets

In the second match today between Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway, Northern Railway set a target of 373 runs for six wickets in 50 overs.

The highest scorers were Pratham Singh and Ansh of Northern Railway, making 80 runs in 56 balls and 76 runs in 78 balls respectively. Sahab Yuvraj Singh of North Eastern Railway took 2 wickets.

North Eastern Railway chased the target but made 335 runs for 10 wickets in 48.3 overs and lost the match by 38 runs . Sourabh Dubey and Nishant Rai of North Eastern Railway made 63 runs in 71 balls and 68 runs in 47 balls respectively. Northern Railway won the match by 38 runs.
