Rupnagar Police busts inter-state illegal arms smuggling racket operating from Madhya Pradesh

Rupnagar, December 7

The district police busted an inter-state illegal arms smuggling racket operating from Madhya Pradesh and recovered 20 pistols of 30/32 bore with 40 magazines.

S.S.P Rupnagar Vivek S. Soni while giving information in the press conference said that on the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, a major operation has been carried out against the interstate gang of illegal weapons concerning Madhya Pradesh. Under which raids are being conducted by Rupnagar police to arrest the accused involved in illegal arms business.

Vivek S. Soni said that the district police had arrested Bharat Bhushan Pammi, an accomplice of American-based gangster Pavitar Singh, at Rupnagar police station on December 2, from which 4 pistols and 34 live cartridges were recovered. During investigation, it was found out from the accused that he was supplying arms from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab. After this the in-charge CIA Inspector Satnam Singh under the leadership of DSP Detective Talwinder Singh Gill nominated accused Deepak Singh alias Pammi alias Manoj resident of Village Umarati, Police Station Barla, District Badwani of Madhya Pradesh in case.

Team of DSP Detective Talwinder Singh Gill conducted a raid at the hideout of the accused in the forest of village Khadki/Bariya, Police Station Gandhwani, District Dhar of Madhya Pradesh from where 20 pistols 30/32 bore including 40 magazines were seized.

S.S.P Rupnagar further disclosed that special Police teams have been conducting raids in Madhya Pradesh to nab the accused Deepak Singh. There will be more revelations expected after his arrest.
