Rupnagar police arrested gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s accomplice Malkit Singh with 5 pistols and 20 live cartridges.

Giving information in this regard at the press conference, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Vivek Sheel Soni said that on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, a campaign has been run against the gangsters by Rupnagar Police.

Under supervision of PPS, S.P. (Detective) Manwinderbir Singh and P.P.S. D.S.P. (Detective) Rupnagar Talwinder Singh Gill, in-charge C.I.A. Rupnagar Inspector Satnam Singh with his team has arrested a criminal namely Malkit Singh who is member of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. A case has been registered against him on dated 30.03.2025 U/S 25/54/59 Arms Act at police station Bhagwantpura.

He said that 05 pistols and 20 live cartridges including three pistols .32 bore and 2 pistols .315 bore recovered from him.

He further revealed that Malkit Singh along with his accomplices had fired at his rival party at Batala city. In this regard, a case No. 181 on dated 08.11.2022 U/S 307, 148, 149, 379-B IPC, 25/54/59 Arms Act at Police Station City Batala was registered against him. In which this accused was on run.

S.S.P. said that after his arrest police remand is being obtained by presenting him before court, from which many other important revelations are expected.

Vivek S. Soni disclosed that accused Malkit Singh had been planning various serious crimes by using these weapons in Punjab which was failed by Rupnagar Police. He was also involved in supplying illegal weapons and drugs in different parts of Punjab as member of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang.
