Rs 7.80 crores on bio remediation legacy waste and development works in Malerkotla: Nijjar

Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar announced that the Punjab government has decided to spend Approximately Rs 7.80 crore for the development works to beautify the Municipal Council of Malerkotla.

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is continuously working towards providing basic facilities and a clean environment to the people of the state.

Dr. Nijjar informed that approximately Rs. 4.93 crore will be spent on bioremediation of legacy waste at Municipal Council Malerkotla, while around Rs. 2.24 crore will be spent on other development works.

Moreover, services of Sweepers, drivers, and mates will be hired to maintain the cleanliness of Nagar Panchayat Amargarh (Malerkotla). He said that Approximately RS 63 lakhs will be spent on hiring personnel for various posts.

Dr. Nijjar emphasized that the development works will benefit the large population of Malerkotla and help them get rid of serious diseases caused by pollution. The local government department has initiated the office process in this regard.

Dr. Nijjar directed the departmental officers to ensure quality and transparency in the development works, thereby creating a positive impact among the general public towards the government.

He also warned that if anyone is caught involved in corruption, they will not be spared at any cost.
