The railway over bridge (ROB) in Ferozepur which connects Ferozepur City and Cantt will be closed for 120 days from September 17,2023 due to electrification work.
Earlier, it was announced to be closed from August 19 but postponed to avoid inconvenience to the public due to opening of floodgates of Bhakra dam which may further deteriorate the situation as it would require frequent movement of goods from city to the adjoining areas.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Dhiman said, the existing railway over bridge (ROB) at Ferozepur Cantonment Railway Station is to be elevated as per the electrification norms by the Railway Department. The over bridge will need to be closed to road traffic for 120 days during the raising operation. But people will not be allowed to face any problem in transportation.
