Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa asked the authorities concerned to expedite the matter of arbitration of Jalandhar highway besides intensifying the repair work of Hoshiarpur-Chinttpurni Road to facilitate daily thousands of commuters.
Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa was holding a meeting of officials here to take stock of arbitration cases and pending issues of roads and Adampur flyover. The Minister said repair and maintenance issues on these stretches should be taken on priority as there was heavy volume of traffic on these roads.
The Minister accompanied by the MLA Raman Arora, Divisional Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra and other officials concerned directed that the road condition in Adampur should be rectified as early as possible. He pointed out that the Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road was a busy road as people in large number visiting the shrine via this route. He instructed the officials to expedite the proceedings in this regard so that the needful repair or work could be initiated and accomplished in a time-bound manner.
Divisional Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra apprised the Minister that the remaining work on these roads would be taken on priority. She said that the executing agencies are being instructed to get the repair and other works completed within a minimal time frame.
