Punjabis at top again : Rishi Sunak is grandson of Punjabi family

Chandigarh, October 25

Punjabis has again made it to the top. Rishi Sunak new PM of Britain is a grandson of Punjabi Khatri family of Gujrawala.

His grandfather Ramdas Sunak was forced to leave Gujranwala during 1930s and he left for Nairobi to work as clerk in 1935. Grandmother of Rishi Sunak, Suhag Rani Sunak moved to Delhi along with her mother-in-law to later join her husband in 1937.

Ramdas Sunak had six children including three sons and three daughters.

Father of Rishi, Yashveer Sunak was born in 1949 in Nairobi. He moved to Liverpool in 1966 to do a degree in Medicine from University of Liverpool. He married Usha in 1977 and three years later on May 12, 1980, Rishi Sunak was born in Southampton.
