Chandigarh, January 27
The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit hosted the annual ‘At Home’ reception for the distinguished invitees on the occasion of 74th Republic Day of India in the lawns of Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh on Thursday. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann did not attend the At Home. Most of the elected or non elected polticians of Punjab also did not attend the ceremony. Contrary to this, Haryana governor and Haryana CM was very much present at Punjab Raj Bhawan.
The programme began at around 4.00 PM with the arrival of Governor who was given a ceremonial welcome by the all-girls school band.
The invitees from different walks of life converged at the Punjab Raj Bhavan which was tastefully decorated on the Republic Day. The Governor greeted the guests present and exchanged pleasantries with them.
