PSCC and GOMCO Patiala enters into SemiFinals of ECL 2024, Season 1

On day 8 of  Employees’ Cricket League, 2024, Season-1 organized by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club, Chandigarh in association with Pritika Group of Industries and Mohali Auto Industries, 3 knockout matches were played.
In a pre-quarterfinal between High Court Warriors and Haryana Civil Secretariat at Baba Balak Nath Cricket Academy Kaimbwala, High Court team after winning the toss chose to bat first and set the target of 186 runs for Haryana Secretariat team, but the Haryana Secretariat team was all out for 175 runs. Prince Pandey was given the man of the match award for taking 37 runs and taking 02 wickets.
On the other side, Two Quarter finals were played at Pranami Cricket Academy, Nayagaon, Mohali. In Quarter Final-1,  AG Chandigarh met with GOMCO Patiala.  AG Chd, batted first and set a target of 144 runs to the opposition team. Team GOMCO had a good start and had an opening partnership of 50 runs in just 5 overs. Team was cruising towards the victory, but then suddenly lost 6 wickets for just 28 runs. Dr Thapa once again proved himself a consistent batsman for the team and scored 78 runs on just 55 balls. GOMCO achieved the target in 19.4 overs.   Dr Sourav Thapa was given the Man of the match for his tremendous innings of 78 runs.
The QF-2 was played between PSCC vs FGS  Fighters. The Fatehgarh Sahib team was in good spirits by winning all the league matches of their pool, while Team PSCC had to face defeat in the last league match. Team PSCC decided to bat first after winning the toss. Vinay Verma and Kamal Amrinder gave a good start in powerplay. But Priyank Bharti and Akashdeep were the batters, who stole the show with their explosive innings. Priyank played a brilliant innings of 68 runs and Akashdeep’s cameo 56 runs in just 21 balls helped the team to reach a mamath total of 214 runs. This total was made even more difficult by the most wicket taker of the tournament Bhupinder Singh, who once again bowled an amazing spell of 4 overs and took 3 important wickets spending just 10 runs. FGS could only score 129 runs and got all out in 17th over. Priyank Bharti was given Man of the Match & Best Batsman and Bhupinder Singh was judged Best Bowler.
GOMCO Patiala and PSCC will meet each other in Semi Final-1. Co-sponsor of the tournament,  The Doctors Consultancy, HeallthMaxx Super Specialty Hospital Mohali and Radisun Biotech Bathinda encouraged the players who showed good performance. Janak Singh, Patron of PSCC and Sushil Kumar Fauji, President, Punjab Secretariat Staff Association were present on this occasion.
