PPWMS organizes awareness program on ”Plastic Waste Segregation and Management”

PPWMS organized Awareness Programme on “Plastic Waste Segregation and Management” in Major Ajaib Singh Convent School, Faridkot today to emphasize on “Role of School Children in Plastic Waste Segregation and Management” and their participation in “My Zero Plastic Waste School Campaign”, with coordination and support of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST).

Dr. K. S. Bath, Joint Director, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Dr. Mandakini Thakur, Senior Scientist, and Dr. S. S. Brar, Principal and Founder of MAS Convent School honored the event with their kind presence.

All students of schools were addressed for providing awareness of their respective roles in plastic waste management.

These Awareness Programmes were for informing the Role of School Children in Plastic Waste Segregation and Management under “My Zero Plastic Waste School Campaign” in association with Punjab Pollution Control Board.

Indian Pollution Control Association, an NGO which is working PAN India, on various issues of Plastic Waste Management has conducted the program.

More than 100 students and teachers participated in the event. Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) has also distributed cloth bags, to the participants, and informed them about the various aspects of sanitation and hygiene while performing their occupational activities of waste collection.

Reena Chadha, General Manager, IPCA conducted the program and informed the participants that they are conducting such programs on regular basis in many regions of Punjab to provide awareness to stakeholders regarding various aspects of Plastic waste pollution and banned SUP items.
