Phagwara ADC conducts surprise checking at Sewa Kendra

Reiterating the firm commitment of the Phagwara administration to ensure citizen-centric services to people in a time-bound and hassle-free manner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Phagwara Dr. Nayan Jassal on Thursday conducted a surprise check at Baba Gadhia area Sewa Kendra.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner conducted the inspection of the Sewa Kendras in the morning during which she visited the various service delivery counters and interacted with the public there while taking their valuable feedback. She also reviewed the various phases of citizen-centric services from issuing of a token number to delivery of the service there. She asked the management of the Sewa Kendra to ensure that every operator on the counter briefs the people about the requirement of the documents for the services in detail, so that people do not run pillar to post for availing the service.

She also said that services must be provided to people shortly after getting the token adding that this norm must be implemented in the right earnest. She categorically said that any sort of inordinate delay is unwarranted and undesirable. She also directed the staff to further ensure proper sitting arrangement for the people to sit in Sewa Kendra when they come for their work.

Additional Deputy Commissioner said that Sewa Kendras were opened by the state government to facilitate the people and any sort of laxity on their parts will not be tolerated at any cost. She further said that such surprise inspections will be carried out regularly to keep hawk-eye vigil on the working at Sewa Kendras. She said that the zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against any sort of inordinate delay by the Sewa Kendras and stern action will be taken against the management of Sewa Kendra.

She also asked the staff working in the Kendras to be polite and courteous to people, who come to Sewa Kendras, as they were here to serve them. She also said that the work distribution among the staff members must be done properly to streamline the system. The services must be provided to people in a time bound and prompt manner without any sort of undue delay, she added.
