PFUCTO extends support to JAC

The Punjab Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organizations (PFUCTO), while extending support to the protest of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Managements’ Federation, Principals’ Federation and PCCTU stated that the Government of Punjab instead of working out an amicable solution to the issue of central portal for online admissions has chosen the path of confrontation.

 

In a statement, Dr Lakhvinder Singh and Dr Jagwant Singh, President and General Secretary respectively of PFUCTO said that the policy and approach of the govt. is going to severely compromise the credibility of examinations that is of paramount importance to all the stakeholders.

 

 

It’s unfortunate that the government. has taken this obstinate stand at this juncture and jeopardized the whole academic atmosphere in the state.

 

The approach of the government. strengthens the perception that the commercial interests of private universities are guiding the government.

 

They appealed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to work out an agreeable solution by addressing the concerns of the stakeholders in the true spirit of democracy and for the well-being of all concerned. They also offered to facilitate an amicable solution.
