PAU holds door to door campaign to protect environment

The Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organised a door-to-door campaign in the village Jandiali to exhort villagers to protect the environment.

The team working under the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) – Women in Agriculture (WIA) visited the adopted families under Nutri-Smart Village Program to monitor the nutri-gardens raised by the 30 families.

The families were provided vegetable seed kits and plants on the occasion. Besides, they showed the fruits and vegetables grown from previously distributed seeds and fruit plants.

Dr. Ritu Mittal Gupta provided tips for better management of nutria gardens. She said that each family should focus on growing fruit plants for better health and the environment.

The potable water of all the adopted households was tested by the experts and the farm families were also told about the safe and judicious use of water for good health and a safe environment.

The Sarpanch of the village Uday Raj Gill also thanked the experts for their services in the village.
