PAU celebrates World Environment Day

Under the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP)- Women in Agriculture (WIA), the Department of Family Resource Management, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), celebrated World Environment Day at Anganwari Center of village Kotli Than Singh, district Jalandhar.

Given the world being inundated by plastic, the focus was on providing solutions to plastic pollution. About 35 farm families, Panchayat members, Sarpanch, and students participated in this event.

Dr. Shivani Rana, Scientist, AICRP-WIA, stressed creating awareness for the protection of the environment.

She also highlighted the importance of environment day and gave tips to conserve natural resources. Later, she proposed a vote of thanks.

To encourage herbal garden plantation among farm families, Moringa plants and PAU literature were distributed among participants at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Pataran, district Jalandhar, where a plantation drive was also held.

It was supported by supervisors and workers of Anganwari, namely Kamlesh Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur, and Jasveer Kaur of the village.
