Pak based Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, has appealed to the Lahore High Court to constitute a large bench to hear Bhagat Singh’s reopened case.
Qureshi is fighting in the court of law, to prove the innocence of Bhagat Singh also as his and name is his associates Rajguru and Sukhdev did not appear in the FIR, on the basis of which they were hanged. Apart, he is also pursuing to rename Shadman chowk as Bhagat Singh chowk in Lahore, seeking apology from British Govt on this account and giving the highest award to these martyrs by both India and Pakistan governments.

Qureshi recalled that in 2013, the case of Bhagat Singh was reopened by Lahore High Court and since then five senior lawyers have left this world while waiting for the larger bench, but even after the passage of ten years, a large constitutional bench could not be formed for Bhagat Singh’s reopened case and delay in justice is tantamount to denial of justice.
