Chief Minister Punjab Efforts being made by the government led by Bhagwant Maan to provide better and quality education to the people of the state and by accepting the call of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains to give high-level education by restoring the faith of the people towards school education, the parents of District Hoshiarpur gave an exemplary response.
Yesterday, 5397 new students enrolled in the schools of the district in a single day. It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Education According to the instructions of Harjot Singh Bains, the education department had set a target of 1 lakh new admissions in 1 day under which every teacher, non-teaching staff and mid-day meal worker had to admit at least one new student in a government school.
Hoshiarpur District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Harbhagwant Singh and District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Engr. Sanjeev Gautam said that according to the departmental target, 5484 new students were to be admitted in the district, but due to the efforts of all the teachers, this figure reached 5397. He said that there was great enthusiasm among all the teachers in the district. Many teachers, including various district teams, took admissions by reaching the streets and slum areas from 8 am to late night.
Deputy District Education Officers of Secondary and Elementary Dheeraj Vashisht and S. Sukhwinder Singh said that in all the 21 educational blocks of the district, there was a festive atmosphere regarding the admissions. On this occasion Satish Sharma, Assistant Smart School Coordinator assisted the teachers by going to different admission booths. According to the information received, in order to make the admission campaign more effective, the education department has also given instructions to set up admission booths outside the main gate of every government school in Punjab by March 31, where teaching/non-teaching staff will be available from the time the school opens until the end of the holiday. The teaching staff will be on daily duty and will do the registration regarding the register and admissions.
