Nearly 200 BSc nursing students of the National Institute Of Nursing Education, PGIMER Chandigarh, staged a protest at Kairon Block PGI against non-recruitment of students after completion of their course as per the legal bond.

The pass-out students said they passed their course in November 2022.

Taranpreet Kaur, a pass-out student said that when they joined the institute in 2018, they signed a bond to serve the institute after completion of their course as this practice is continued since the 1990s.

She added for the first time in history, the new Director of the institute has issued speaking orders that deny recruiting these students giving some illogical reasons.

Another pass-out student, Shabnam said they were in contact with the administration about their joining letter and it always gave them false reassurances even the Director himself kept us in the dark for this long period.
