National Lok Adalat of all types of cases except non compoundable criminal cases to be held on February 11

Under the supervision of Hon’ble Justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa, Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali and the able guidance of Tarsem Mangla, Learned District & Sessions Judge- cum -Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of pre litigative cases and cases pending in various courts/ Permanent Lok Adalats except non-compoundable criminal cases, is going to be held in District Patiala on 11.2.2023.  For this purpose, benches of Judicial Courts will be constituted at Patiala, Rajpura, Samana and Nabha.

In this regard, a meeting was held by Tarsem Mangla, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Patiala with all the Judicial Officers of Patiala, President, District Bar Association, Patiala, Mediators, and Panel Lawyers, DLSA Patiala.  During this meeting, Officers were requested to make the maximum efforts to ripen adequate number of cases for being taken up in National Lok Adalat and they were asked to hold Pre-Lok Adalats. Panel Lawyers, DLSA Patiala as well as advocates who are private practising lawyers were requested to cooperate the Judicial officer in identifying and getting the maximum number of cases like matrimonial, u/s 138 of NIA, MACT, Money Recovery cases and other civil cases etc fixed in Lok Adalat for their disposal.

Apart from this,  matter was also taken up by him with different District Administration Authority, Patiala like Deputy Commissioner, SSP, and DPRO, Patiala in quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority, Patiala held on 12.1.2023 alongwith the other members. The guidelines issued by the Hon’ble Executive chairman for making adequate preparation for settling the maximum number of pre-litigative and pending cases were also discussed in the meeting.

 The Deputy Commissioner, Patiala was requested to constitute separate benches of the Revenue Courts at District as well as at Sub-divisions level in coordination with the DLSA, Patiala on the same date i.e. 11.02.2023 for taking up and disposing the maximum number of cases pertaining to mutation, partition etc.

 The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Patiala was requested to constitute the benches for taking up and settling the pre-litigated matrimonial complaints at all the Women Cells in Sessions Division Patiala.

Meetings were also held by Sushma Devi, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala with Managers/Officers of various Banks in the District Patiala and officers of BSNL, Patiala to make them aware about the upcoming National Lok Adalat and encourage them to send maximum cases for their expeditious disposal.
