Nabha Power Limited continues to make a difference with community welfare initiatives

Nabha Power Limited (NPL), which operates a 2x700MW supercritical thermal power plant in Rajpura, demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community welfare by handing over five new housing projects to economically weaker families in five districts of Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib.

The projects consist of a room, kitchen, washroom, boundary wall, and gate and were officially handed over to the recipients by the Chief Executive of Nabha Power, SK Narang, at an impressive event held on the plant premises. These houses were constructed to rehabilitate families living in dilapidated houses in various villages in the two districts.

In his address, Narang said, “Nabha Power is committed to supporting the local community by promoting housing, education, empowering rural women, and enabling the youth to become financially independent.” He said the company was dedicated to the welfare of the surrounding villages and their residents through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He acknowledged the peaceful plant surroundings and continuous community support as critical contributors to the plant’s emergence as the most reliable and cost-effective source of power in Punjab.

So far, Nabha Power rehabilitated 25 families in as many as 19 villages by providing them with concrete houses enabling people from economically weaker sections of society to lead dignified lives. Nabha Power’s CSR practices have created a lot of goodwill amongst the local communities making them partners in progress.

The Chief Executive conveyed his best wishes to the recipients and expressed gratitude to the Sarpanchs, Member Panchayats, and other community representatives. The ceremony was attended by senior plant officials, village panchayat members, and other members of the community.
