Nabha Power bags prestigious British Safety Council Awards for safety

Nabha Power Limited (NPL), which operates 2x700MW supercritical Rajpura Thermal Power Plant, has achieved a major milestone by bagging the prestigious Distinction Award from the British Safety Council. The award was received by Mr. R.S. Lall, Plant head of Nabha Power, during the British Safety Council International Safety Awards Ceremony held on May 10, 2023, in Mumbai. The company was also recognized as the winner for the Power Sector, alongside NTPC, for their outstanding commitment to health, safety, and environmental management.

The British Safety Council’s Distinction award is one of the highest international recognitions for health, safety, and environmental management. The award is conferred upon companies that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the well-being of their employees, stakeholders, and the environment, and that have made significant contributions to promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.

NPL’s achievement is a testament to the company’s unwavering dedication to promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace. NPL remains on top of the merit order as it is the lowest-cost thermal power producer in Punjab, operating at a high Plant Load Factor (PLF), which is among the best in the power industry.
