Mohali Health officials told to intensify anti-dengue activities

To review the progress of various health programs and schemes, Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur held a monthly meeting with the program officers and senior medical officers of the district here today.

Expressing satisfaction over the flow of patients in the ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ and the health facilities being provided there, the Civil Surgeon told the officials that the patients coming to these centers should not face any problems. She said that people are very enthusiastic about these centers and are coming in large numbers.

Emphasizing on the prevention of dengue, malaria, chikungunya and other diseases, the civil surgeon asked all the officials to make people more aware about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of these diseases and step up the house-to-house anti-dengue drive.

She said that according to health experts, the positive cases of dengue may increase in October, so along with awareness, house-to-house checking is very important.

The Civil Surgeon also directed to increase awareness activities during the ‘Poshan Mah’ which is being observed from 1st September to 30th September.

In view of the upcoming festival season, Dr. Adarshpal Kaur directed health staff to sensitize people about following Covid appropriate protocol like wearing masks, washing hands frequently and keeping social distance from each other,

She also asked the officials to ensure the timely attendance of the staff and hold regular meetings to review various schemes.

She said that the employees dealing directly with the public must remain at their seat during duty hours and corruption or bribery will not be tolerated at all in any health institution.

Health officials were also asked to pay special attention to cleanliness in the hospital premises. Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh, District family welfare officer Dr. Nidhi Kaushal, District Immunization officer Dr. Girish Dogra, District Health Officer Dr. Subhash Kumar, District Epidemiologist Dr. Akshay Kumar, Dr. Harmandeep Kaur, all senior medical officers, etc. were present in the meeting.
