Minister Harpal Cheema asks for data on outsourced employees

Chandigarh, September 13

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has directed to collect data on the total number of outsourced employees and their contractors/outsourcing agencies employed by all departments of the Punjab Government.

During the meeting held with the ‘Theka Mulajam Sangharas Morcha’ at his office here, the Finance Minister discussed the issues and demands raised by the representatives of the Morcha with the concerned officials on the spot to work for an appropriate solution as soon as possible.

Listening to concern of the Morcha representatives,. Cheema issued instructions to prepare complete data of outsourced employees from all government departments and corporations, societies and committees etc., said that the qualification and experience of these employees will also be included in the data.

The Finance Minister also asked the concerned outsourcing companies or agencies to provide complete information on the total financial expenditure incurred on employing these employees through outsourcing, including the commission.

During the departmental discussion with the representatives of the front, the Finance Minister assured them that all their legitimate issues would be resolved soon.

He said that after receiving the data from all the departments, he will soon talk to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann about their issues. In the meeting Secretary Personnel Rajat Agarwal, Vice Secretary Finance Mohit Tiwari, H.O.D. Water supply and sanitation Vipul Ujwal was also present.
