Masked Amritdhari Sikh follower injures Gurdwara Granthi at Gurdwara Hut Sahib over triffle at Sultanpur Lodhi

A Masked Amritdhari Sikh attacked Gurdwara Granthi with Sri Sahib ( small sword) and injured him at famous sikh religious shrine Hut Sahib attached to early life of Guru Nanak Dev at Sultanpurlodhi on Thursday late evening.

Police identified the accused as Lakhbir Singh resident of village Sarupwal falling in Sultanpur Lodhi and arrested him on the charges of hurting religious sentiments under section 295 IPC according to Sultanpur Lodhi DSP Babandeep Singh .

DSP told PTI that accused often visited Gurdwara Hut Sahib to pay obeisance but on Thursday evening he went there by wearing mask which was objected to by Sewadars present in the gurdwara but he ignored them and paid obeisance there .When he was coming out of gurdwara he challenged the Sewadars by striking his thighs .The sewadars ghareoed him but accused took out his small sword and attacked the Granthi Amritpal Singh and injured him he was later overpowered by sewadars and handed over him to police .
Police said Granthi received minor injury on his arm and discharged after first aid.
Police registered the case on the complaint of the gurdwara .
It is pertinent to mention here that Gurdwara hut sahib is famous where Guru Nanak Dev is said to have running his shop by uttering “Tera Tera “.
