The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President CM Bhagwant Mann addressed ‘AAP’s Mission 13-0’ program and said that the party organised this unique event to introduce their candidates to all the party workers and media persons. AAP candidates are not dynast politicians, they come from common backgrounds, the people who come from common families become the voice of the common people in the parliament.
Mann said that the 2024 general elections are not about winning or losing, it is a fight against the dictatorship, it is a fight to save our democracy. Our country is facing a massive crisis today, we have a dictator in power who only thinks about himself, he only talks about himself, he is putting the opposition leaders in jail.
Mann said that when dictatorship, injustice and oppression is prevalent then God uses his ‘jharoo’ to free us from all these evils. I’m just coming back from Gujarat, before that I was in Assam and Kurukshetra, everywhere people are only saying one thing, that the BJP government and Narendra Modi are scared of Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP, so they arrested Arvind Kejriwal to stop him from campaigning in these elections. People are saying that they will respond to these atrocities of the BJP through their votes. ‘Jail da badla vote’ and ‘Zulm da jawab vote nal’. Mann said that Arvind Kejriwal is not just a person, he is an idea, they can put the body of Arvind Kejriwal in jail, how will they stop his thinking?
Mann said that now it is the responsibility of every soldier of the Aam Aadmi Party to protect and advance the politics of work, transparent and honest politics, the politics initiated by our national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal made this party out of a movement against corruption from the Ramleela Ground, in just ten years we became a national party, no other political party grew like us. We have our government in two states, we have 10 Rajya Sabha MPs, we have 5 MLAs in Gujarat, 2 MLAs in Goa, we have AAP’s mayor in Chandigarh, we have a Municipal Councillor in Sangroli of Madhya Pradesh and we have majority in Delhi municipal corporation. BJP cannot stand the popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party and our patriotic and honest politics. And I understand why the BJP cannot digest it all, because they know wherever the AAP goes, we finish the BJP there. Wherever Arvind Kejriwal goes, he ends politics of corruption there and pro-people governments are formed. But they don’t know that they cannot stop us or scare us.
Mann said that no one here is the son of some minister or chief minister, all our MLAs, ministers and Lok Sabha candidates are from common families. Mann said that they (traditional politicians) even have a problem that Arvind Kejriwal gave a platform and an opportunity to common people, the common people got elected as MLAs and ministers and now they are clearing the political dirt.
Mann said that he will go to every constituency 3-4 times, but don’t only vote for me, vote for yourself, your rights, your children, vote for our constitution and to save our democracy, vote to end the dictatorship. Mann added, I’m enough to take on all the opposition leaders in Punjab, we don’t have money like them, but they can’t beat us when it comes to hard work and dedication. Mann also said not to refuse money if other parties offered it, it is your money they looted for decades but vote for the Aam Aadmi Party only. Mann said that we don’t have muscle power and we don’t do politics of hatred, instead we do politics of work, we address your issues. He said that people love him and the AAP, they receive him everywhere with such warmth and enthusiasm that he doesn’t get tired. So they (BJP) cannot stop us or intimidate us in any way.
Mann said that the BJP was in power in Delhi, they didn’t let our farmers into Delhi, now our farmers are not letting them into the villages. It is only fair. These traditional politicians never took the side of the common people. Whatever they are facing today is the outcome of their anti-people decisions and deeds. By looting Punjab, they became richer and richer, leaving Punjab in the financial crisis. They used to take share in every business, used to illegally aquire the lands. But, we, since coming to power, only worked for the people of Punjab. I didn’t buy any lands but I bought a thermal power plant to give free electricity to the people of Punjab, I don’t have any share in the transport company, sand mines or dhabas but I do share the problems and sorrows of the people.
Mann said that now the times have changed. Yesterday in the Barouch of Gujarat, there was a tsunami of the people in favour of the AAP candidate. Everyone is with the AAP, we will win all the seats we are contesting, we will win in Punjab by 13-0. He asked the volunteers to work in these elections dedicatedly. Minor issues are common in big families, we will solve them after the election, first we have to get united to save our democracy. He said that they think that by arresting Arvind Kejriwal, they can stop the Aam Aadmi Party, but they are mistaken, we will register huge and one sided victories.
Mann said that earlier traditional parties used to issue their election manifestos and sankalp patra but now, copying Arvind Kejriwal, they are also saying the word guarantee. But they cannot mislead the people, everyone knows only the guarantees of Arvind Kejriwal gets fulfilled. BJP is the jumla party. Mann said, “Even in parliament, I used to say 15 lakh ki rakam likhta hun siyahi sookh jaati hai, kaale dhan ki baat krta hun toh kalam ruk jaati hai, har baat hi jumla nikli, ab toh shakk hai ki chai bnani ati hai?”
He said that don’t let them fool you by making things of daily use like cylinders a little cheaper now. They (Modi government) are responsible for high inflation and unemployment. The Aam Aadmi Party government is giving you 300 units of free electricity every month, 90% of households are getting zero electricity bills, we made government schools world class and your children are getting quality education for free and we opened 800+ mohalla clinics to provide free health facilities to the common people. Now on June 1st, on the election day in Punjab, again press the button of ‘jharoo’ and send our candidates to the parliament. “Punjab has always led fights against oppression, dictatorship and injustice, make a record this time, make AAP win by 13-0”, urges Mann.
Mann said that this country belongs to its people, our forefathers gave millions of sacrifices for its independence, it is anyone’s personal property. Who are they to not allow our farmers into our national capital, who are they to reject Punjab’s tableau with the photos of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev and Lala Lajpat Rai on it. So requite their every attempt to destroy our democracy, their disregard for our constitution, their atrocities against our farmers and their politics of hatred with your votes this time.
