Chandigarh, November 18
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Cabinet approved the proposal to raise sugarcane crop rate from Rs 360 to Rs 380 per quintal.
Sugarcane mills will start from November 20. Sugarcane farmers do not owe anything to the government.
He said that he has decided to recruit 648 lecturers.
Mann said that the posts of principals will be filled in 16 government colleges, the age has been increased from 45 years to 53 years.
Bills of registered gaushalas till 31st October have been waived. Mann said that farmers’ dharnas cause trouble to common people and it has become a custom to hold dharnas.
