The issue of bihourly fee and hike in monthly pass charges at parking lots has been amicably resolved after Ludhiana west MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi intervened and held a series of meetings with market associations and contractors of parking lots falling in his constituency.
Addressing a press conference in MC’s D-zone office on Friday, MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi said that both market associations and contractors had agreed to reach a consensus and the issue was now talk of the past. He said that contractors had decided to reduce the rates of parking fees and will also install CCTV cameras, ensure proper vehicle queue management, deploy well-behaved and verified manpower to operate the operations. He said that flex boards displaying rates would be placed outside the parking lots. The mobile numbers of associations’ representatives will also be mentioned where people can lodge complaints in case of overcharging or misbehaving by staff in parking lots.
MLA thanked representatives of market associations and contractors for their support in resolving the issue for the welfare of society.
