Two persons were injured one of them serious in a firing incident between two groups of drug peddlers over alleged selling of narcotics at Mehtabgarh locality infamous for selling drugs here on late Sunday night.
Both the insureds identified as Pawanpreet Singh and Manpreet Singh both residents of Mehtabgarh have been admitted in local civil hospital and seriously injured Manpreet Singh has been shifted to a private hospital at Jalandhar.
City DSP Maninderpal Singh confirmed the firing incident and said police has registered a criminal case against six persons of both the groups and arrested one of the culprits.
Police also recovered empty shells from the spot.
Police said that a verbal duel between both the groups is said to be reason behind the firing incident .
