In the early hours of Thursday, Border Security Force (BSF) troops successfully thwarted an attempted infiltration by a suspected Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The intruder was shot dead during the encounter, according to officials.
The incident occurred near the Mangu Chak border outpost (BoP) in the Samba sector around 2:50 am. Alert BSF troops detected suspicious movement and observed an individual crossing the IB from the Pakistani side, as reported by a spokesperson from the Border Security Force.

The intruder was challenged by the vigilant troops; however, disregarding the warnings, he persisted in advancing towards the border fencing. In response, the BSF troops opened fire, resulting in the intruder’s demise.
Following the encounter, the BSF has initiated a search operation in the Samba sector, as the intruder’s body remains in the forward area.
This incident marks the second such infiltration attempt along the India-Pakistan border in the Jammu division within a span of two days.
