ITI Ludhiana to be upgraded to world-class Skill Development Centre: MP Vikramjit Singh

Ludhiana, September 7

The Government ITI of Ludhiana, one of the prestigious institutions, would be upgraded to world-class Skill Development Centre in collaboration with Sun foundation very soon. This was announced by S. Vikramjit Singh, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha on his maiden visit to the ITI along with the senior department officers in the presence of different associations of the industrialist’s form Ludhiana. He further said that new training course and modules would be introduced as per the requirement of the industry with latest machinery. We will be installing latest machines CNC, 3D Scanning, electronic motor repair, CMM machine. The problem is that Punjab has youth but the youth doesn’t want to stay in the home state because of lack of jobs. The industry should assure me the manpower requirement for different courses, we will fulfill it from ITI Ludhiana by training our own youth.

Taking a whirlwind round of the ITI and the MSDC centre, Vikramjit Singh said that our priority would be to upgrade the machines on which the students are given training but along with the building and the surroundings would be made more vibrant. The open area of the institute would be landscaped by professionals so that the students have very positive vibes in the institute.

Later Vikramjit Singh interacted with the industrialists and assured them full support from the Punjab Government and Sun Foundation in upgrading the Government ITI. The industrialists also gave their valuable suggestions to the member of Parliament. Charanjit Singh Vishwakarma Chairman ITI Ludhiana welcomed Vikramjit Singh while Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO and Rajeev Jain General Secretary FICO (Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization) said that our ITI’s are working on age-old models which can not provide industry with the skill it needs. Manjinder Singh Sachdeva Senior Vice President FICO & General Secretary UCPMA, suggested that the Government of India to collaborate with the Japan and Germany to enhance the skills of the tutors, so that they could teach the latest skills to the students.

Group, Amrish Jain CMD Kangaroo Group, Kulwant Singh Sidhu MLA Atam nagar.
