Indian Army conducts ‘Gagan Strike’ in Punjab

Patiala, September 9

Showcasing the might and prowess of the Indian Armed Forces, Kharga Corps conducted GAGAN STRIKE which was a joint exercise between the Indian Army and the Indian Airforce.

The exercise was conducted over four days. The exercise validated the Apache 64E and Advanced Light Helicopter WSl as potent weapon delivery platforms.

The force multiplier effect of combining these machines with ground operations have enhanced the combat superiority of our forces.

The exercise comprised of attack helicopters being employed as the aerial arm of maneuver in support of ground forces carrying out drills practicing annihilation of enemy defenses, deep penetration and thereby creating a criticality for the adversary.

The exercise also showcased precision firepower by Attack

Helicopters in coordination with ground forces mechanized columns. Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, Khagra Corps spearheaded this exercise.

The Joint Exercise was witnessed by Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Command, who exhorted all combat forces to continue to evolve such concepts and remain prepared to counter any contingency on our Western Borders.
