Hoshiarpur, September 10
The ASI posted in the Haryana police station of Hoshiarpur committed suicide by shooting himself in the police station with his service revolver.
The deceased has been identified as Satish Kumar. Before taking his life, he made a video that he shared on the Whatsapp group. The officer reportedly shot himself at 10 am.
In the video, ASI Satish Kumar said on September 8 SHO of Tanda Onkar Singh Brar visited the station for the late-night checking.
Kumar said that SHO called him, he was sleeping in government quarters and reached there in 10 minutes. The SHO inquired him about the matter that been listed in the court for the next day.
“The SHO asked me about the details of the matter. I informed him that the officer in charge only knows about the matters of the case. He also asked me unnecessary questions that should not be asked to the duty officer. He harassed me and told me I don’t know anything. SHO also hurled abuses at me. I even asked SHO to shoot me. I told him I can’t tolerate harassment anymore. After insulting me, he also wrote a report against me in the register,” late ASI Satish Kumar told in the video.
Kumar shared that he shared the whole incident with the in-charge in the morning who emphasized with him.
“SHO Tanda Omkar Singh treats his junior poorly. He hurled abuses at me. He has pushed me to take my life. SHO Tanda Omkar Singh is responsible for my death. Jai Shree Ram” were his final words.
The body is still lying in the police station till the time of writing the news.
