Haryana yoga programs to be organized in all districts on International Yoga Day on June 21

Haryana Minister of Health, Medical Education and Research, and AYUSH, Dr. Kamal Gupta, stated that yoga practice harmonizes the mind, body, and intellect, filling life with enthusiasm and joy while protecting it from stress and disorders.

No medical treatment can make life happy, but it is possible through imbibing yoga in daily lifestyle. Today, yoga has united the entire world, and the credit for this goes to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.

Dr. Kamal Gupta was presiding over a review meeting with the officers of the AYUSH Department and Haryana Yoga Aayog regarding the preparations for the tenth International Yoga Day to be held on June 21, 2024.

The meeting informed that the Haryana government has decided to organize yoga programs at district and block levels across all districts on the occasion of International Yoga Day from 7 to 8 AM on June 21, 2024.

Additionally, yoga training programs for participants in the International Yoga Day event will be conducted from May 29 to June 15.

He mentioned that a three-day training program from June 13 to 16 will provide yoga training at the district level to ministers, MPs, MLAs, administrative officers, officials/employees from all departments, elected members, police department officials/employees, NCC cadets, Nehru Yuva Kendra staff, and interested general public.

This training will be provided by yoga experts and AYUSH yoga assistants from the district AYUSH department, yoga teachers from yoga committees, and yoga trainers from the sports department.

He also informed that a pilot rehearsal for the main event will be held from 7 to 8 AM on June 19 in all districts, and a yoga marathon will be organized by the district administration at the district level.

This will include participation from schools, colleges, Gurukuls, universities, the general public, yoga institutions, police personnel, NCC cadets, NSS, Nehru Yuva Kendras.School children will carry banners/signs with yoga slogans. The route for the yoga marathon will be determined by the district administration.

The meeting was also attended by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Sudhir Rajpal, Director of the AYUSH Department, Anshaj Singh, Chairman of the Haryana Yog Aayog, Dr. Jaideep Arya, and other senior officials from the AYUSH Department.
